William (bill) welch, pe president

Bill Welch is a Professional Electrical Engineer, registered in Arizona and several other states. He has been in the electrical design field since 1988. He graduated from ASU with a BSE in Engineering in 1992.

Bill has worked for several firms in the valley, including Wright Engineering, Dale Walker & Co., Energy Systems Design, and Hawkins Design Group. He has worked on numerous types of projects including, but not limited to, street lighting, multi-family residential, high-rise condominiums, large manufacturing and industrial facilities, office buildings and retail centers.

Bill is President and co-founder of Welch & Sandon Design, LLC.

Brian has in the electrical design field since 2001. He attended High Tech Institute in Phoenix and graduated with an Associate’s Degree of Occupational Studies in Drafting/CAD Technology as was the Valedictorian in 2002.

Brian started at Grommes Meade Engineering where he worked for 3 years before becoming a Senior Designer and Project Manager with Hawkins Design Group. While at HDG, Brian focused on design, project management, and developing client relationships.

His previous project experience includes airport hangars, office buildings, light industrial facilities, restaurants, fuel centers, C-stores, generators, residential, multi-family, and over 150 automotive dealership facilities on the west coast.

Brian is the Vice President, partner, and co-founder of Welch & Sandon Design, LLC.

gabriel (gabe) abajian 

Gabriel Abajian has been an electrical designer for over 15 years, graduating from UTI with an Occupational Studies Degree. Gabriel started at Ozzies Pipeline Padder & Design, designing mobile drilling rigs and their support equipment, before going to Grommes-Meade Engineering where he learned electrical design. This new knowledge was taken to Hawkins Design Group where he became a Project Manager. He eventually left for M+W Group USA where utilized his knowledge of electrical design to become a team member for large projects with clients such as Intel, Global Foundries, & First Solar. While at M+W Gabriel became proficient in Revit 13 & 14 for overall project design, creating Families as needed, and file maintenance. Some of the projects Gabriel has worked on include distribution plants, package distribution facilities, apartment complexes, city government office buildings, federal government land port of entries, computer chip manufacturing facilities, and solar power farms.


william (wills) benbow

Wills Benbow has over 10 years of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering. He attended High Tech Institute in Phoenix and graduated 2002 with an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Studies in Drafting/CAD Technology.

    Wills started at Electrical Design Consultants where he worked for a year before becoming a drafter with Hawkins Design Group. While at HDG, Wills learned the ins and outs of electrical design, becoming a Designer, Project Manager and Design Tem Leader. He has experience with a wide variety of commercial and light industrial projects ranging from small office improvements to multi-building distribution facilities.

    In 2009, Wills took a break from the engineering field and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While serving as a military police officer, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, was selected for a special assignment protecting the Commander, United States Pacific Command, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies from Southern New Hampshire University.

     Wills completed his enlistment and was Honorably Discharged in April of 2017. In addition to working at Welch & Sandon Design, he is currently using his G.I. Bill to earn an engineering degree.
